I Got Skills

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “I Got Skills.”

If you could choose to be a master (or mistress) of any skill in the world, which skill would you pick?

Now where is the fun in that? Sure I could say a writer, a painter, a photographer, an artist – I already have those skills and if I was a master, does that imply I can do no better? No! I would rather dream, learn, search out new challenges. Also I am a confirmed dabbler……….I do a bit of this and a bit of that. I find a new hobby or inspiration every few years, usually something I can do in tandem with something else I have done before. So my concern is, if I am a Master, I would surely be only doing the one thing? Although look at Da’Vinci or Michelangelo……..they mastered in various different arts did they not? Maybe they are the exception rather than the norm.

I guess then If i was to look outside my current realm of skill sets…………..I would love to be able to sing – IN TUNE!. I can sing now, albeit out of tune and off key, so not to split everyone’s eardrums might be a nice change (for them and me). I doubt I would do anything with it……….I don’t think I could get up on stage for instance, to self conscious to do that.

Martial Arts – In my younger days I did Taekwondo, I did enjoy the artistry of it, not so much the combat side……….although it was great to kick or punch the hell out of the bags……..good for the stress levels. I was not very good, but progressed through the ranks to a Blue Belt, until I did my knee. That was the end of that. So I would love to have the grace, agility, stamina and fitness of a BlackBelt.

So to sum it up I would like to continue my own artistic journey, but as a singing Ninja!
