A Battle is coming………………….And in that battle shall be decided the fate of the world.

Pawn of Prophecy is the first Book in the Belgariad by David Eddings; it is a Fantasy Saga of epic proportions about a family of Wizards out to save the world, aren’t they always!

I cannot tell you when it is placed………….could be our distant past or our murky future; or neither. I cannot tell you where it is set, possibly here on earth, but I doubt it. There are fabulous mystical beings and some very ordinary folk, who will warm your heart. If you do not read fiction, this may not be for you, but if you like fiction and /or fantasy suspend all doubts until you have read the book. Some say the start is a little slow, but I never found it so. True it does take a while for some of the more important details are divulged, but isn’t finding out a secret part of the fun?

True most fantasy are good versus evil, and they teach us about fables and morals and being strong and courageous, and standing up for oneself and all the rest, but if you love a bit of a mystery and some magic, mythical beings, haunted castles, kings and queens and knights on fine horses, this might be for you. If you like thieves and pirates and a bit of scull buggery this is definitively for you. Some of the characters are so finely created and portrayed it is hard not to see them as real people.
