OK, so this is another post I had pre prepared for Photo 101, but never got used. I have done a few quick posts, with no pretty pictures, so I thought I may as well use it instead of leaving in my drafts, or deleting it. Last time I literally just stuck locally with my Landmarks,…Read More

You get some incredibly, amazingly, wonderfully fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?
OK so I just received notification I have won the Lottery, after calling Moth and both of us jumping for joy, I immediately walk upstairs to the Bosses office and say ‘that’s it, I’m outta here’ – pack up my gear and get in the car………….I then drive my car to the nearest dealership and buy a new one, something a little fancier and possibly not necessarily conventional or practical? And then buy a practical SUV or something as well…………let’s face it when Moth hands in his notice, he will need a car too.
Then straight to the Bank and pay out the rest of the mortgage and then onto the travel agent!! Oh dear, could spend a bit of time there (not to mention a bit of cash as well). Then I would call my 2 best friends and my parents, but I really would not tell anyone else……..it’s none of their business anyway!
Now that I have woken up from that daydream, it’s time to get back to work!
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Switcheroo.”
If you could switch blogs with any blogger for a week, with whom would you switch and why?
OMG………no way, I have enough trouble writing my own, let alone switching with someone else! Sure there are lots of blogs I follow daily or weekly, and some whom I an silently envious of their followers, but hey they have been at it a lot longer than me.
This is not something I would even attempt to take on, and I am sure I am not alone, even hypothetically it gives me a head ache just thinking about it!
Sorry – pass on this one
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “High Noon.”
At noon today, take a pause in what you’re doing or thinking about. Make a note of it, and write a post about it later.
Well to be perfectly honest I was mainly thinking about lunch! That and seeing if I can catch up on the Daily Post. Easter was a big 5 day affair for us at my household, the kids both work in retail so only had Good Friday Off and spent the rest of the weekend working. Moth and I spent Friday Morning at a Car show, the rest of the afternoon with the kids and then went away for a few days. Really not much in the way of PCs, tablets or even phones. I took my camera and I occasionally used the Smart Phone to take a few pics as well.
So now I am madly editing all the photos from the weekend (will eventually write the posts as well) and then getting ready for more upcoming photo shoots as well. So for now during my lunch break I am madly tying to catch up on the Post……….who cares if I miss a day or two? Me! I feel like I am cheating as it is, combining a few or just penning a few lines.
I don’t think I will be doing 3 little words or IMHO – they may have to slide, but I an endeavoring to catch up on the rest, as well as all my challenges.
P.S. Post should return to normal by the end of the week! 🙂
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “It’s a Text, Text, Text, Text World.”
How do you communicate differently online than in person, if at all? How do you communicate emotion and intent in a purely written medium?
Everything these days it written on social media, whether an email, prompt, Tweet, Text, Post etc, etc, etc. It is often hard to portray emotion, sure there are emoticons, and emojis but apart from that, most people can’t really tell what you are thinking, or feeling. I guess if I am really upset or I am trying to emphasis something, it is all Capitals. Then there is the LOL, LMAO, OMG etc. etc. But it’s probably safe to say most things I put up are in good fun and I am laughing or at least giggling on the inside (if not on the outside).
In person there are a hundred subtle ways to tell what a person is thinking or feeling, posture, stance, facial expression, voice. But online it is virtually impossible. I guess if you are unsure, ask for clarification?
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Fool Me Once.”
Only a week late, that’s not bad. I guess I didn’t get around to writing this last week. Too much on my plate and not really interested in April Fool’s Day. Did hear about a few funny pranks. But nothing all that interesting.
I guess the heading is Fool me once………..unfortunately it can happen more than once. I wont say I am gullible…….. I don’t fall for those Nigerian prince scams, but sometimes I guess I am a bit naive. I am a little too trusting of people and I know I should not be. I would like to give people the benefit of doubt, but I have be shown time and time again that a LOT of people are not very trustworthy.
So I guess I am the fool………..I know that there must be good people out there, just not enough of us I fear.
In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Blur.” These were taken at a Amusement / Fair set up locally to me over Easter. I was trying to get some movement in the photos, I ended up with mostly blur.Read More
It has been a very hectic long Easter Weekend. As such I have been a little quiet on my Blog, but will make up for it, especially with photos, but more on that later. I will start at the start, with the Lunar Eclipse from Saturday night. We were very lucky in Melbourne with only…Read More
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Roy G. Biv.” Write about anything you’d like, but make sure that all seven colors of the rainbow — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet — make an appearance in the post, either through word or image. I am not a very poetic person, sometimes I…Read More
