This week’s One Word Photo Challenge by Jennifer Nichole Wells is Flood, this made me think of a blogging friend in Manila and the recent flooding they experienced, check out Photo ni Ompong here. I have never really experienced a flood of that magnitude, and when I have experienced some heavy rains and flooding, it was a few years back, and I had no photos. So my Flood for this week’s challenge is a little cleaner, it was also from our trip to New Zealand, at Cascade Falls. There had been snow the night before which was melting and causing all the creeks to run so full. It was such a stunning sight, I so wish I had done a ND Long exposure here, but was such a newbie and didn’t know how…………one day I may go back.
Happy snapping……….

Although I am one who likes creamy white water from long exposures, I quite like the action in these shots that I think would be less aggressive with a longer exposure. Maybe it was good your ND filter was left at home 😉

Sometimes you have to just take the photo in front of you – even if you did have your ND filter, maybe you wouldn’t have stopped to take the long time needed for the shot. I personally really like the choppy water in these. I can hear the movement and feel the splashes of water.
