Every week Robyn at Captivate me host the One Four Challenge. This month I thought I would start with a poor photo, which has a composition I love and see what I can do to save it and turn into a beautiful piece of art…….this is a Long exposure shot taken at Taggerty Cascade a few weeks back. This week I wanted to work on the basic image from scratch, without the crop.
So this week I reset the image, lightened, a lot, then ran it through a HDR Filter in Lightroom. Still had to tweak some settings and lower the exposure at the top, as the highlights were a little blown out still. The image is better, but still does not ‘pop’. However I do love the silky effect in the water, which as been brought out in this edit. Also love the glossiness (is that a term?), in the wet rocks. I will leave the image here for now and work more with it next week.

I love that “silky” water, what a great capture. Maybe you could crop more tightly and blur the background, so the focus is just on water? Just another idea…

The water is lovely Julz and I really like that you have paced yourself with this one. Looks like a beautiful place to be.
