Tuesday’s Tales – Victorian Garden Party Art Exhibit

On the weekend I attended an Art Exhibition with a difference, quite frankly when I received the original invite I was unsure what to expect (I seem to get this a lot, invites to unusual events). It all coincides with Melbourne’s Arts Festival and the upcoming Spring Fashion Week. It was quite literally photos, artwork and paintings suspended from wires inside a huge glass house, known as The Conservatory within Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne CBD. The theme was Victorian Garden Party, set among Ripponlea House, a beautiful Victorian Era mansion, also in Melbourne. All set among beautiful flowers, fish ponds, ornate bridges, statues and pleasant music playing in the background.

I immediately thought of Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights Dream with many of the displays, others were opulent garden forays, with tennis, croquet, peacocks and parties. It was a truly lovely event. If you live in Melbourne it is worth a visit, I believe it is on for a few weeks. I will leave you with a gallery of just a few flowers and pictures to give you a taste.

Til next time, happy snapping
