One Word Photo Challenge by Jennifer Nichole Wells, this week is Wildfire. This is something in Australia, we know a little too much about. Ever summer, bush fires and wild fire break out, some years with devastating effects and loss of life. It is horrible, it is scary, yet in Australia it is a fact of life. In Fact many of our native plants and trees need fire in order to re seed, it’s the man made fires which usually cause so much devastation.
These are images from the Mt Stromlo Observatory in ACT, 10 years after the devastating 2003 bush fires, which caused nearly 500 injuries, a few deaths and countless loss of homes and properties. Sorry about the quality of the images, these are quite old, pre DSLR days.

It’s amazing how devastation leaves its mark for years later. Great shots, but awful the hear about the suffering!
