10 Fantastic Day Trips around Melbourne – Follow Up

A little while back, I wrote a post about places around Melbourne and surrounding areas I wanted to visit, 10 Fantastic Day Trips to Explore around Melbourne. I thought I would do a follow up on that post, see how far I got.

Train-10711 – Australian Railway Historical Museum, Williamstown; Fantastic and very interesting afternoon out with the Melbourne Walk & Shoot Photographic Group – [read post here].

Frog Hollow Wetlands

2 – Frog Hollow Reserve, Endeavor Hills; Amazing find, I am not exactly sure what I was expecting but certainly not what I saw. Huge wetlands areas, with walking and bike tracks, bird life of vast assortment, grasses and other native flora in abundance. I will have to take Moth back there, and maybe even take the dogs, there were dogs everywhere when I went. [read post here].

3 – Heritage Hill, Dandenong, so close and yet still not visited

Marysville-18544 – Emerald Lake, Dandenong Ranges; Did not get this one accomplished, although I did manage to get to Marysville.

5 – Mordialloc, honestly I tried recently, but due to some fantastic weather, there were so many people there as well, I gave up. Plan again for another time.

Alowyn Gardens

6 – Alfred Nichols Memorial Gardens, Dandenong Ranges; Putting this one on hold until later, I thought it best to wait til late Spring for all the colour. ALthough it is looking more like Summer before I get a chance! ( I did get to Alowyn Gardens though)

Rye & Blairgowrie Back Beach

7 – Blairgowrie, Mornington Peninsula (Pearse Beach & Quarantine Station); Well we managed to get back down to Pearse Rd Beach, but not the Quarantine Station, also it was again at night. Full Moon and too many clouds made stars a no go, however we did get some really cool long exposures of the beach, as well as the Full Moon. [Read post here], add to that No.16 Beach in Blairgowrie as well

8 – Port Melbourne

9 – Beaumaris

10 – Karkarook Park, Kingston Council

Honestly there are so may great places to visit, and I am constantly finding more, there are never enough hours in a weekend to visit them all, let alone re visit some. I figured I didn’t do too badly and Spring isn’t over yet, so there is still time to do a few more.

Til next time, happy snapping……
