Cee’s Black and White Challenge – Weather

This week’s B&W Challenge is weather. I have learned a great deal from this and other challenges, as well as doing my B&W Artistic course, some things convert to B&W really well, and others do not; food for instance loses it’s appeal when in B&W, I feel. Portraits tend to look spectacular in B&W, especially high contrast with great dynamic range.Landscapes can work as well, especially if there is a lot of contrast to work with.

Summer Cloud

Cloude Hill Gardens

Cold, damp and Misty

Twizel, Pelaanor Fields

As the rains approach

Quuenstown - 12 mile Delta

After the rain

Mist and rain apparently can be difficult subjects, where as clouds can look great!

Til next time, happy snapping……….

  1. Totally agree with you.. Clouds are always the best subjects. They don’t usually move, they stay at the right spot where you want them to be. And they have this aura that one cannot really describe well but images of them talk by themselves.
