It’s been a long time between flowers, or so it seems lately, so it was nice to just sit for a few minutes with my macro lens, especially after yesterdays Macro & Still Life Workshop; as I did not really get to shoot. So I took home a few flowers and spent some time this morning with them. First up is the Gerbera, I do adore these flowers, so simple, so elegant and they always make me smile.
This was shot on black perspex on a table and I just moved around, I had one studio light with a soft box on it, plus some natural light as well, and don’t forget the water spray bottle. Ah……pure bliss, my Zen meditation for the day.

Geberas are indigenous to South Africa, and our wedding tables were adorned with the burnt-orange variety, so they have a very special place in our hearts!
