Everyday Inspiration, Day 9: Writing and Not Writing

Today’s topic asks us to explore what we do to step away from our writing? As I am not actually a writer I guess I do not really need a break as such. However in saying that, something it is just a good idea to walk away from the keyboard. I often find myself staring at a blank screen with no idea of what to write, so just randomly throwing words on a page (like now) gets words on the page but has no real meaning.

So my days….I am a graphic designer for a job, a photographer for a hobby and a digital artist as my passion, although they are all interchangeable depending on my mood. 🙂

I love to travel, I often enjoy cooking and I love eating out with friends. I have pets to play with and a Hubby to explore and share my life with, two beautiful daughters to love, as well as my wonderful friends. My life is full, I don’t really need any distractions, my quiet time is often spent with my PC, whether reading, writing, or creating. When I need to unplug (and don’t we all from time to time?) I have my gardens. When the weather is better I have my favorite Zen spots for a quiet drink or cuppa, occasionally to read, or just sit and watch the animals play and the wildlife flourish. Then there are those magical summer evenings with friends on the back deck. Laughing, talking and just ‘being’.

If you’re not a full-time writer, or if your day is so full of other tasks that you have little time to write, consider these alternative questions: if you could step into a machine that gave you more time, what would you write with this extra time?

This was the other option, this may sound strange but if I had a time machine, I probably would not spend it writing….strange, perhaps? Or maybe writing is not what I want to just want to do only but as an addition to my art.
