Spring is here, which usually means Magnolia blossoms, right? For some strange reason, all of the trees near me have yet to flower (good news I hope), there is one tree in a neighbor’s yard which is almost spent, copious blossoms everywhere and so many fallen petals on the ground. I have been meaning to visit the tree for a week or more, I finally went up on a cold blustery day, in near arctic conditions, but only a light wind, thankfully. The sky wasn’t even really gray, just that hazy white color (which blows out in photos) and a few patches of blue.
So I decided to visit for just five minutes, with my new camera, to get some practice in, I am still trying to find the balance in lighting, but am much better with the focus, I think. I think it’s time to try some portraits soon. The detail is there, just seems a little soft and grainy.
Welcome back to another #RegularRandom where we:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
Don’t forget to check in on Desley’s page, where this week she features the cutest little yellow pansy

So lovely! What a colourful way to greet in Springtime! Once the trees near you start to flower, you will bombarded with a riot of these flowers! Do they give off a scent?

some do, but most not really it’s a little subtle

Subtle is not bad. Sometimes when the jasmine is flowering around, it can get rather overwhelming.
