Was school easy or difficult for you? How so? I confess I coasted through most of primary school (5-11yo), secondary school was a whole different scenario. The work was easy enough (mostly) but the politics and squabbling, the incessant bitchiness. In some ways, they were wonderful years, but in others painful horrible memories. I struggled with the whole math and science part and was far happier with English and the Arts, still am 🙂
List some of your favorite types of animals. Domestic – Dogs, Cats, Turtles, Horses, Fish. Wild – Elephant, Hippos, Zebra, Giraffe, Lions, Tigers, Polar Bears, Dolphins. I could go on and on, but these are the top choices.
What is your favorite large city you have been to? What is the one thing you remember most? I’m not really a big city person, I am uncomfortable with crowds. But I do love my Melbourne. At night she is so pretty, with so much to offer. The sights, the sounds, the theatre, parades and festivals, the buskers and street entertainment. There is always something happening in Melbourne. But outside of Melbourne, I guess I might have to say Christchurch, New Zealand. Even after the earthquake and devastation (I never saw it before the earthquake), you can still see its beauty and charm, the beautiful architecture and the amazing botanical gardens. But there is a pride in Christchurch, they have taken rubble and turned them into works of art, there is amazing street art on every available surface, the people are happy and resilient and have a can-do attitude, they have made the best of a bad situation and have tried to create beauty where there was none. I hope to go back when it is mostly restored and see her in all her grandeur.
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination. Actually, not a lot inspired me this week. Suffering from post-holiday blues, I guess. Back at work and feeling a little flat. Not every week can be a good week. I decided to get the camera out for a bit of a play yesterday and took this sweet candid photo of my eldest daughter and the dogs. Just goes to show that sometimes it is the simple things that bring us joy.
