In the studio – Still life with Desley Jane

Looking at the images in this post, you might be thinking you have somehow accidentally stumbled onto Desley Jane’s blog or an advertisement for Lindt Chocolates, and you may be partially right, some of the colors and stylings, props and drops might look very familiar! The reason for that is, I recently visited Desley for lunch and a Christmas style Photo Shoot. We try to get together as often as possible, but sometimes life gets in the way, and as much as we chat online, on WordPress, Facebook etc, getting some face to face time can be a challenge, it’s about an hours drive from my place to hers and then back, so we like to make a day of it.

Don’t you just adore the pretty pink backdrop (I’m in love with it, but I was good I didn’t ‘borrow’ it and left it for Desley’s gorgeous stylings) and the Love plate? I have always wanted to shoot with that plate. Of course, Desley also has these cute soft pastel Christmas baubles as well, and the Scandinavian style Xmas tree. And yes if you ever wondered, Desley’s apartment is pink, pink and pinker, it truly is her favorite color!

Desley bought me a gorgeous coffee cup (we will save that for another post) and some yummy chocolates and of course, we had to shoot them too, in fact, I think these were our favorite of the afternoon, especially the gold ones.

And then I got down to some very ‘Julie’ styled Christmas Still Life…while Desley shot some of her Planner, pretty pink, gorgeous soft light yumminess……I snuck a few shots as well (hehehe naughty), but pop over to Desley’s page to see those, in the coming days.

And not to be outdone, Desley had the cutest little angel lights, could not resist those

Lunch? Yummy I Love Dumplings, Dumplings, Savory Pancakes and a Beef Noodle dish that was so yummmmmmm. We ordered in, ate and played with Still Life all afternoon, and of course, chatted and laughed and enjoyed each other’s company. Hopefully, I can see Desley again before the end of the year, we always have so much fun.
