Monday Musings

Can you believe, this time next week is Christmas and a week after that 2017 is finished? I feel like I have spent most of this year with my head spinning, struggling to come to terms with yet another year that is done. I feel a bit like the Grinch that stole Christmas, we have not even put up decorations, have not gone to see the Christmas Lights (not even the ones at the end of our street). Nobody in the family really needs anything and even then we are just buying each other ‘stuff’ nothing is wrapped or under a tree, somethings we have already given each other and used. The rest I am just sending money, or gift cards, a few of us have even decided not to give gifts and just have a catch-up. I had a few Kris Kringles and a few parties, but still nothing, I did not even do a Christmas shoot, nor do I want to. I am not sure what it is, but I go through it sometimes. Some people approach this time of year with great gusto, while some of us are just lukewarm, meh.

I didn’t shoot this weekend, I don’t even think I picked up the camera, I am feeling burnt out from work and I ache from head to toe, stress? I am still playing catch up on editing from shoots several weeks again and trying to organize some shoots for later this week, (yes just before Xmas, I am crazy), but they are after Wednesday. I keep telling myself, everything can wait until after Wednesday. Why Wednesday you ask? I finish work and have 3 weeks holiday…I will be able to breathe and sleep in or stay up late, or get up ridiculously early and then go back to bed…because it just won’t matter.

Does anybody else get to the end of the year and just feel burnt out? Maybe I am just not used to being so busy at work? I went and had a massage on Saturday morning thinking it may help, now I am stiff and sore from that as well. Oh dear, well I am sure I will feel more relaxed in a day or two, once the bruised and battered skin and muscles calm down from being rubbed and pummeled so much đŸ™‚

Well, I need to stop complaining, and get my act into gear, Monday and last week before Christmas, I’m sure it will be a busy few days.
