Regular Random – Sweets for the Sweet

I missed last week’s Regular Random, a week before Christmas and everything was so hectic, sometimes you just gotta let things slide. This week I had a few days to potter and play in the studio and something I have been meaning to do is photograph this gorgeous coffee cup Desley gifted to me and this hand-carved heart shaped timber bowl I bought a few weeks back in Warburton. I also have some yummy Lindor chocolate balls, and no your eyes do not deceive you, they are in fact pink and not red wrappers…so in all things pink I dedicate this week’s Regular Random that that lovely lady, Desley.

Desley has a cup just the same and I have always loved it when she photographs it, now I have my very own and it is the perfect size for a latte!

If you would like to join in theย RegularRandomย challenge, here are the rules:

  • choose a subject or a scene
  • spend five minutes photographing it โ€“ no more!
  • try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light thatโ€™s hitting it
  • have fun!
  • tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to Desley’s post

Disclaimer:
I shot all this with natural light and a reflector in front of a window, with both the Nikon and the Sony, 16-85mm and 90mm Macro on the Nikon and the 18-200mm and the 16mm extension tubes on the Sony…OK, it probably took longer than five minutes in total, changing cameras and lenses took a bit, but actual shooting time was only about 5 minutes.

P.S. I wish you all a Merry Christmas for tomorrow and a safe and happy New Year, xo
