Regular Random – Vintage Pink Roses

On the way home from work I stopped off to get a few things for dinner the other night, and walked past these pretty vintage pink rosebuds, I had to have them and couldn’t wait another minute to photograph them, before they opened up. Shot in late afternoon light by the studio window. I gave them a very soft, feminine feel, almost bridal. Soft white tulle skirt and corset over white wood.

I thought as it was just 5 minutes, this will be a star for Regular Random for this week. All shot handheld, Sony a7ii (of course) ISO640, 50mm F/1.8 – F/5.6. I might actually get the Nikon D750 out this weekend with the macro or my fav 50mm prime!

Would you like to join in the RegularRandom brigade? Here’s how:

  • choose a subject or a scene
  • spend five minutes photographing it
  • try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
  • tag your post #regularrandom

I will shoot these pretty roses further and then perhaps dry them to add to my collection. White, red, apricot, pink will go very nicely I think.

PS….you have to check out Desley’s Bunny Cake this week, so, so cute
