Share Your World – 16th May 2018

Cee is back with another set of questions for this week…

Complete this sentence: This sandwich could really use some …mustard, mayonnaise, black pepper? I guess it really does depend on the kind of sandwich, doesn’t it? I mean I would not out any of the above on a peanut butter sandwich. My standard sandwich is usually ham and salad and in that case, all three could apply, especially if there is tomato on it, then I have to have black pepper. Yummo!

What is your least favourite candy? ANything really chewie or sour, not overly big fan of those really sour candies, Warheads and so forth. The are some sour worms that are tangier than sour, I don’t mind those, and I am not a big fan of the super sticky chewie candies, the ones that hurt your jaw to keep chewing and chewing for ages.

What sign are you? Do you believe in astrology? Yes and No…I like astrology, but not a big believer as such. I am a Virgo and have many Virgo traits, but I have other traits as well. I do not think we are all just one sign. I am a water sign but can get quite fiery and passionate as well. I think they are interesting and cool from a mythological and astrological standpoint, but I do not read my daily horoscope. I love the astrology by the stars and think that they are very cool, but I can never seem to find them without a grid laid out over the top of a picture.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination. It’s not that I am not grateful for all that I am and all that I have…I am, but I am also a little stressed out. I was actually in bed the other night and started having what I can only call a panic or anxiety attack over prints for my upcoming exhibition, I could do nothing about it all at 3am and laid in bed trying to self-soothe myself. Let’s face it if you have eve tried to self-soothe yourself at 3am in the middle of a full-blown panic attack, it is NOT at all easy. It was all quite stupid really as I just fixed up the images and then sent them off for reprinting. This is not the end of the world, no-one will die if my prints aren’t perfect.

It is actually quite funny some of the things we get ourselves worked up about isn’t it? I mean we talk about hopes and fears and such, those fears are not real…we maybe be anxious about them but in most cases, they are not something that will harm us or someone we love. I am anxious this exhibit will be a flop, no-one will come, no-one will understand my art, no-one will buy, while all that is true, the chances are many will come, some will understand, some will not, it’s entirely possible that I sell nothing, but it will be a good experience, it adds to my CV and it is good publicity. No harm, no foul. I am worrying about stuff that I have no control…like NO-ONE ever does that 🙂

This was the image I posted for my #MondayMantra this week and while maybe not EVERY day, I believe in doing something even a little bit scary, can be good for the soul. It usually means you are expanding your mind, exploring new territory and learning new things. It does not mean recklessly putting yourself in real danger, just do something a little bit scary. Some people never achieve their dreams, because they are scared to put themselves out there, I know I have been there. I used to be terrified of exhibiting, now I have done it many times, it is fun and exhilarating (even if I do have silly panic attacks every now and then).

OK, so I am ranting a little, instead of doing work…I hope you all have a fabulous week,

~ Julz, xo
