We officially hit Winter on Friday…how depressing, and just to celebrate Melbourne turned on the sunshine. Blue Skies, mild temperatures and light winds. The last few weeks have been bitterly cold and grey and drizzly. I am sure there is more horrible to come. We have been getting very cold mornings along with our clear skies, but the days are glorious albeit short.
A fairly quiet weekend, just as well, I have been seemingly tying myself up in knots of anxiousness and it is playing havoc on my stomach. Why do we do that to ourselves? It’s so silly, worrying about things that never come to pass, or we have no control over.
Friday I gave an Artist Talk in my gallery for Dapper Rabbit, there was a large memorial service going on and parking was at a premium, also most of the grounds were closed off, so it made for a quiet talk. Still, I managed to have some fabulous one on one talks with a few people and some great discussions about art and creation with a few smaller groups. All in all, I can’t complain it put me in front of people and had me talking about my art…that is always a good thing.
I then spent the afternoon preparing for some upcoming classes, finishing off a few tutorials and experimenting some new studio triggers (no real photos for that) and with a new Macro Light Ring I had bought.
Saturday, we were feeling a bit stir crazy, had not really left the house, apart from work, errands and such since we got back from Tassie…a month ago! So we grabbed the cameras and headed out…we were chasing the last of Autumns colour and ended up back in the Dandenongs, a safe refuge for us, but we also wanted to visit a few spots we have not been before. I thought the fresh air and exercise might make me feel a bit better.
Sunday was just a lazy day with some boring old housework and food shopping thrown in, apart from editing some photos it was mostly boring. Saturday night we watched Marvel’s, Black Panther…I don’t quite get all the fuss, it was OK but not as engaging as some of the other movies, actually, I pretty much said the same thing about Thor Ragnarock we watched last weekend. Is it me or is it all wearing a bit thin? I am still to watch the latest Avengers, but I am in no hurry.
I am looking forward to an interesting and creative shoot on Friday and then it’s a long weekend again, this time the Queen’s Birthday, not our current Queen, kind of dumb, but a paid day off work, I’ll take it and it’s the last one for a few months. I think it is also the official start of Ski Season (Winter here now remember), not that there has been any snow yet…cold, but no snow.
I hope you all have an amazing week…
