Spring Outings – Pirianda Gardens

We only just discovered these gardens in the Dandenong Ranges late Autumn/Winter this year, we have visited so many gardens up in the Dandenongs, this was not often visited as the main road in is 4WD cars only, such a pity for many tourists.

On our spur of the moment visit last year we did not stay long as it was starting to rain and the wind was picking up, it was also getting quite late in the day. This time around it was also starting to rain and the wind was picking up. But it was still lovely to see the magnolia starting to bloom. We were a little early for most of them, but there were a few.

In our meanderings, Hubby spotted a Kookaburra determinedly trying to catch a rather large worm. He stalked it for several minutes, taking photos all the while. he actually got quite close. These are his photos, I did not want to interrupt and scare it away.

After our visit, we went into Olinda to have lunch at one of the many fabulous cafes and then wandered at leisure through the various shops, we found a few new ones, always exciting.
