I love Spring in our garden, so many interesting, colourful and architectural plants are in bloom, including this bottle brush, also known as Callistemon. We planted this bush several years ago and this is the first year it has really bloomed. It is covered in tiny seed pods, just waiting to burst open. I cut a bloom and took it into the studio to photograph as the light was a bit harsh.
These were all shot with my new 50mm macro on the Sony a7ii approx F/2.8 – F/4.5, ISO100. I did also grab some more shots of the bush, will post perhaps next week.
Would you like to join in the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post or check out Desley’s post, a yummy cake this week
Looking forward to seeing your shots.
