As promised last week, here are some photos I took of Bottle Brush (or Callistemon) flowers still on the tree. I tried to shoot as much as I could in shade, bright, harsh afternoon sunlight is not fantastic for photography, but it can create some interesting shadows.
I adore the structure of this plant and the vibrant colours, I always know it’s getting near Christmas time when these plants are in flower, they like the heat and the end of Spring early Summer. The birds love them too, I hope to capture some birds soon.
Would you like to join in the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post or check out Desley’s post, a yummy cake this week
Looking forward to seeing your shots.
