Back on schedule this week for SYW, last week I felt like I was falling behind, so much to do, but this week, back on track. Melanie has some less than serious questions for this week, she even calls them silly…just means some serious fun.
Some Silly Questions:
Is it better to suspect something (bad or hurtful) and not know or to have your worst fears confirmed by sure knowledge? I am a shocker for fearing the worst, it’s a bad trait but if you are 10 minutes late I can only assume you are lying hurt in a gutter, not stuck in traffic with a flat tyre! I am always better hearing the confirmed truth, no matter how bad it is, I can always deal with the known, it’s the unknown that haunts. Even when the truth is as bad if not worse than my imagination, and sadly it has happened a few times, I can still deal with it…I struggle with the unknown.
What makes you laugh aloud? Crack up? Laugh until your sides split? When was the last time you had a great big belly laugh? Really good slapstick comedy movie or TV show, funny videos or animals and people falling down (bad personality flaw there I know, I just can’t help it, but I know I am not alone!). My animals are frequently still making me laugh so hard. I went and saw The Hustle (Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson) last week with my Daughter, so, so funny…excellent night out. It is a remake of the 1980s (I think) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Steve Martin and Michael Cain…absolutely loved that too. If you have not seen it, do yourself a big favour, it is very silly and so funny.
Do you suppose Noah had woodpeckers in the ark? If he did, where did he keep them? Apologies to the Darwinians in the crowd…this is merely for fun, okay? I must admit I did giggle when I first read it, can you imagine the calamity that would ensue? I honestly think there are quite a few animals and insects that would have made a real nuisance of themselves, White Ants, Termites and Wood Borers? I mean there are so many holes in this whole story (Sorry if I offend – but seriously?), are you trying to tell me for 40 days and 40 nights ALL the animals got along? What did they all eat? I reckon the lions and tigers ate half the crew. There are so many animals on this planet which have been around for more than 2,000 years, they could not have all fitted on the ark. Wood Peckers? the least of their problems I’d say lol.
Why is “Charlie” short for “Charles when they are the same number of letters? Damn good question, I have no idea. Also, where do Chuck, Chick and any other derivation come from?
Thankful, Joyful, Grateful
What happened in your world this past week that made you feel thankful, joyful or grateful? I spent several months planning a huge workshop at a beautiful little French style villa, Sunday was the day, it was beautiful late Autumn day, blue skies, white fluffy clouds, light gentle breeze. No hiccups, no issues (apart from one or two people turned up a bit too early and I had not yet arrived), we all had loads of fun and lots of laughs, everyone was really happy with their images and we had an amazing spread for our Devonshire styled afternoon tea. We even had a steam train ‘Puffing Billy” pass through the back of the property as we sipped our cuppa. Such a perfect day, all my planning paid off. Now to decide if I want to do it all again for Spring!
