And now for something completely different – Case moth

We got home from a family outing to find this curious critter on the garage wall. I have not seen one in many, many years, I had to do a bit of research and ask a few questions but it is a Case Moth – [more info here].

Curious little critter, I could not help but grab the macro lens and light ring and snap a few pics…

Apparently the female never leaves her cocoon, and I don’t think I have ever seen a male out of it, looks amazing. I guess the birds finally caught it, or it managed to evade them, as the next day it was gone…Oh well, I have my pics to remember it buy.
