I really cannot decide what to title this piece, something about it screamed Romeo and Juliet, but technically crowns were not really involved, my Mother suggested King Lear, but I am not a fan, perhaps Ophelia? Shakespeare is on the spine, so something to do with one of his tales, maybe even a Mid Summer Nights Dream? Or just Shakespeare in Love?
I bought the book for the cover; the colour, so rich and textured, the crown I bought a while ago and has been used in a few shots, sadly it is broken again, it is just so fragile. But the colour matched the book and hand painted background so well.
The book and the tiara were made for each other, Julz. Such a beautiful image.

The broken crown / Shakespeare combination makes me think of Lady Macbeth. It would complicate the image, but your art is layered and often plays with edgy ideas. It doesn’t make the crown any less alluring – your focus is on their desire with a hint at the outcome. You could call it The Scottish Queen and play around with the belief that you can’t say the name of the play out loud in a theatre other than in a live performance without bringing bad luck on to the production.

Curious idea…a name without a name. Sounds like something I can work with. Nothing like obscure to entice viewers with their own imagination
