Regular Random – playing with fractals

I write a little while ago about how I played with some fractal prism filters at the Melbourne butterfly house, how I loved them so much I bought my own set. Between stuff and life and being sick, I had not had a chance to play with them until now. So I spent a simple 5 minutes with some dried hydrangea, three different filters.

I adore the softness that is created more than the harsh shapes, but it is all trial and error. Next week I will showcase some of the shots I took outside.

Would you like to join in the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:

Version 1:

  • choose a subject or a scene
  • spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
  • try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
  • have fun!
  • tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post

Version 2:

  • choose an object
  • spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
  • put the object in different locations to see how the background or surroundings can change the way the object looks
  • have fun!
  • tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post

Looking forward to seeing your shots. Head over to Desley’s page for more fun and inspiration…
