I have something a bit tricky for you this week, yes they are cupcakes, but they are soaps! Look good enough to eat, right? They are from PlanetYum, I have been looking for some for a while. So I don’t have to keep buying (and eating) real cupcakes. This does NOT mean I won’t buy real cupcakes, but for workshops and such, they are a live-saver.
I only have three at the moment, but I might buy a few more, oh and they smell divine.
Would you like to join in the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:
Version 1:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
Version 2:
- choose an object
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- put the object in different locations to see how the background or surroundings can change the way the object looks
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
Looking forward to seeing your shots. Head over to Desley’s page for more fun and inspiration…

You had me fooled here, they look sooooo delicious !!! But apparently that’s what happens when people who photograph food for a living; what you see is not what you get as most of the stuff we see on the packaging looks like food but it is not.

So true, apart from these cupcakes, I pretty much ALWAYS use edible food in my food photography, these are just a prop, but they so look good enough to eat 🤣
