This week’s question from Melanie, SYW…
Why do we have such trouble telling our loved ones that we love them? Do you have that kind of communication issue with your loved ones? I don’t really have trouble saying, but I find others seem to have trouble saying it back. I say it to my daughters and husband all the time, and they say it back. However, I guess that really is as far as it goes. I don’t really say it to friends. I have a few close friends and I am sure they know exactly HOW I feel and I KNOW how they feel too. I have many acquaintances, which I do not feel love, as much close friends, but I do value them being in my life. While I agree it is important to let loved ones know that they are loved, I think action is better than words. I don’t need to be told all the time, but I do need to feel loved. It is nice to hear it though!
Decorations for holidays? Spirit lifters or pain in the butt? Or a mix? Us Aussie are pretty slack when it comes to decorating, apart from Christmas, many of us feel a need to go all out. Sometimes it can be fun and exciting and the house looks rather pretty, but sometimes it is a pain in the butt. It takes days to put everything up and then days to pull it all down. Some years, I simply cannot be bothered, but other years I get into the Christmas spirit. I guess it depends on HOW burnt out I am by the time I get to December, this year I have tried to slow things down a little and take more time out for myself and family. On another note, I do like looking at pretty Christmas lights and decorations and it is fun to see how creative others can be.
Do you donate to charities? Of your time, do you feel money is the only true gift, or other? I rarely give to charities. I do not like how so many charities keep the money for ‘Administration fees’ rather than passing onto WHO the money is supposed to help. There are so many charities raising money for the same cause, why can’t it be a little more regulated? Instead of dozens of groups (with their own admin fees) raise a tiny bit for one cause, it should be one group for a cause, perhaps then the cause would receive more funding? Sorry but I am a big sceptic when it comes to charities, it’s possible it is only a problem here in Australia…but I doubt it.
Are you too superstitious or have you ever played with an Ouija Board? I am not superstitious so much, but I still say things like don’t walk under ladders (I mean seriously that is more common sense), seven years bad luck if you break a mirror, I like black cats (I own one), I like Tarot cards, but don’t life my life by them. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I did a reading.
Yes, I have played with an Ouija board, but it was a VERY long time ago and nothing really happened apart from a few kids fooling around with the board lol.
This week please share a photo or image of what ‘harvest’ and “Autumn” mean to you! Here it is Spring, days are now longer and finally getting warmer, the nights are still cool. Trees and plants are finally starting to bloom and there is a riot of colour everywhere.
On the weekend I ran a wonderful afternoon class at The Potterage, such a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, with lovely people. This tiny little viola (I think) was so sweet and the colour so vibrant.
Whatever is happening in your world this week, I hope it is enjoyable and filled with colour and joy…
