Regular Random – Banksia

I have not done a #RegularRandom in so long, but I decided it was time to jump back in. This was my first shoot since surgery handheld without the tripod, it was a little dark and I was a little shaky, so the focus is not 100%, but it feels so good to be shooting again. These beautiful banksias are in my backyard, I pass them on the path to the studio. No real perfume, but the colour, the structure…such a wonderful plant and the honey eating birds adore them almost as much as my grevillea. So on the way out to the studio, I grabbed 5 minutes with these beauties (to be honest 5 minutes was long enough!)

Would you like to join the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:

Version 1:

  • choose a subject or a scene
  • spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
  • try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
  • have fun!
  • tag your post #regularrandom and pingback to this post

Version 2:

  • choose an object
  • spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
  • put the object in different locations to see how the background or surroundings can change the way the object looks
  • have fun!
  • tag your post #regularrandom and pingback to this post

Did you see Desley’s recent #regularrandom with Raspberry Eclairs? oh my yum!
