Share your world – 8th September 2020

Another week means another Share Your World, this time SYW Meets Harry Potter and The Order Of The Phoenix. We have gone into another three week (potentially longer) lock down, it’s already been five weeks. The natives are getting restless, we are having silly protests, people arguing that being in lock down is punishment and invasion of their rights…what about the rights of people infected or dying? …but we are here to discuss other matters…

Roger’s Magical, Mystical Questions: 

What happened to cause you to discover ‘bullies” were real? I guess that must have been late primary school or high school, girls can be so bitchy. I hated the clicks, but like everyone wanted to be a part. Peer pressure right? I had a group of girls who used to torment me in High School, stupid stuff really. But it does lay a path for life at times doesn’t it?

Eavesdropping- When given the chance, how often do you eavesdrop? (this may be a similar question to what some folks said they’d do with an invisibility cloak) I believe you never hear something good about yourself if you eavesdrop. Sometimes I might eavesdrop on a juicy bit of conversation (from another table) while out to lunch, just for a giggle. I will occasionally listen into a phone call my hubby makes with his sister or such, but he knows I am listening, so does that count?

Escalators, at one time, were the ‘next big thing’. When was the last time you rode an escalator? To get to my local supermarket I ride the escalator all the time, not that I have been for awhile. I also like the travelator at the airport, that’s fun too.

Have you ever ‘let’ someone win in a sports competition or a board game? How did it turn out?  I am not really all that good at board games, or sport for that matter, so letting someone win, was never really an option, I frequently wished they would let me win lol.

Today..because I feel like it I am going to answer the normal questions too…

Do our fears start with our DNA? I don’t think so, I have different fears to my parents, if it was DNA, then they’d be similar, yes? My kids have different (and less) fears than me, which is a good thing I guess. I think fear changes as you age too, I am no longer afraid of monsters under my bed, but more the crackpots next door.

If you could have your hair any colour for 24 hours, what colour would you choose? Bright teal blue, or bright hot pink…would be wonderful. I used to put bright colours in my hair, sadly they fade so quick and then just seem blah!

When do you think a person gets old? Age is relevant. I know 60 year old who act younger than me and 30 year old who seem really old. I think it’s down to attitude not the number of years. When a person believes they’re old, then generally they are.

GRATITUDE:

My gratitude is for ‘Click and Collect’ it’s the one thing I really like that has come out of COVID19. Yesterday I had to take my cat to the vet and get his arthritis shot and some food. I also had to collect some items from the office supply store. I put the cat in his carrier and drove to the vet, rang them, they came out with my pre-arranged cat food and place it in the boot. They grabbed the cat carrier and took it inside. I sat in the car and played games on my phone, checked email and listened to the radio. They brought the cat back out and placed him in the car then I paid with eftpos right at the car. I then drove to the office supply store with the cat and opened the boot and they placed my items in there, then I drove home…I never left the car. I can’t say I hate it. No more waiting around in boring queues. It’s great!

Also to my Hubby…office is finished (apart from a few bits and pieces) and it’s too early to hang a few prints as the paint is still fresh. But it looks great and there is so much room and a place for everything.
