Share your world – 20th October 2020

I tend to measure the year with certain milestones, once we hit Halloween the weather starts to become really nice, mid Spring is here days are warm and flowers are everywhere. Then we have Melbourne Cup (A big international horse race), then the year is done and dusted, Christmas is just around the corner. Well, Halloween is ten days away…we have lived in this Corona bubble so long. It’s hard to believe the year is pretty much over, just a few weeks left and I felt like I have been nowhere and done nothing! I know some of that’s not true…but it sure feels that way. I have been out and about a few times this past week, more than I have in ages. Visited a few parks and reserves close to me. Every time I find the time, the weather turns, unpredictable time of the year.

Anyhow…onto this week’s SYW questions;

Questions:

“How many people in real life or on social media (including WordPress, which has become a rather social media site) do you consider good enough friends to help you ‘hide the dead body?”
This is purely a silly and fun exercise, so don’t worry that there are bodies in need of burying. At least I don’t have any…. if you do, I hope you have some good friends who will lend a hand in getting rid of the evidence AND never tell a living soul….Mmmm I don’t think I have connected that closely with anyone. Literally or figuratively. Many that I regularly chat with are nowhere near me geographically. But I have not really connected with anyone that closely either. I don’t tend to connect with many people that closely with. I have a couple of friends who would ‘help me hide the body’ but not on social media.

Are You Ready To Order?  What Are You Having (craving) right now? Chocolate…I am usually craving chocolate. Chocolate cake, chocolate cookies, just plain chocolate lol. Sometimes I want something salty like hot chips (french fries) too.

How’s the weather in YOUR neck of the woods? Well, it’s Spring here so a little unpredictable. The skies are overcast, but we are supposed to get a little sunshine. Thankfully no rain for a few days. I am a bit over the grey skies and rain we have had. But, they say the rain will return over the weekend.

There has always been something. Before there was something, there was only nothing. Which do you think is more likely? Well I guess it all depends on HOW you look at things. Look at the universe, it has been around for a VERY long time, millions and millions of years, but before it was something, it was probably nothing. WAS there anything there before the birth of the universe? What about Earth or the other planets. Was there life on any of them, before they BECAME what they are. Perhaps other planets were something and now nothing? Perhaps that’s what will happen to Earth…we will inevitably become nothing again?

We keep churning things up and spitting out pollutants, maybe Corona is Earth’s way of saying stay home, stopping polluting the environment. I hear that waterways in places like Venice are becoming clean again? Animals are taking back the wild. You have to wonder where we are heading…as a species?

Gratitude:

This past week, I said goodbye to my Dad. Everyone keeps asking me how I am doing, and I am doing OK. Sure there have been a few tears, but I have been mourning the man I grew up with for several years now. I guess in a way I am mostly relieved, for him and for me. It was horrible to see him go downhill like that, slowly gradually. He was trapped in a body that couldn’t function, torture. There is no more suffering. Sure I miss my Dad, but I have had several years already, missing my Dad.

Also grateful I have been allowed to play with a new camera lens about to be released, it’s been super fun, it’s not something I would normally use, but it has allowed me to capture some great nature shots.

Keep well and stay safe, I hope whatever you are doing, you have an enjoyable week…
