Share your world – 22nd December 2020

Christmas for so many is a lonely time of year, I’m not saying I’m lonely, but our gatherings are certainly getting smaller and smaller. I won’t get to see my youngest daughter again, and it’s our first Christmas without Dad, I am sure it will feel strange, especially for my Mum.

Anyway…onto this week’s question from SYW

QUESTIONS:

  • What is your favourite type of cookie (they’re called biscuits in Europe I believe)? Largely they are referred to as biscuits in Australia, as well BTW. Shortbread creams and chocolate Oreos (red velvet Oreos are good too) are probably my favourite store bought, but I adore home made chocolate chip.
  • If you could choose one age and remain that forever, what would it be and why? I wish I was forty again. Weird right? But at Forty I was fit and much slimmer and my body hadn’t started falling apart. I was wise enough to think I know what I wanted. I hadn’t even picked up a camera back then (well second time around). My kids were old enough to look after themselves and we had just started travelling and seeing the world.
  • Do you have a traditional drink during the holiday season? Mimosa on Christmas morning and strawberry daquiris with friends is a favourite.
  • Are you able to still believe in holiday magic as you did when you were a child? Mmmm tough question. I do believe in something about Christmas, but it just doesn’t seem to be the same with little kids around. I try to bring the magic back to the forefront, but there always seems to be something missing. We didn’t even put up the decorations again this year…last year we only put up a few, this year, practically none…just seemed pointless.

GRATITUDE:

I am currently on holidays, which means I don’t really have to be anywhere or do anything in particular, but the weather is foul this week. We always seem to get this just before Christmas, it gets cold and wet…seriously, it’s SUMMER!

Dexter

Just pottering around, watching TV, reading books, pottering in the studio, would love to do some day trips, but the weather has been so bad. With only two days left until Christmas I have been enjoying some downtime, but I am already looking forward to getting back into the studio, is that wrong? lol And already Jan, Feb and March are looking pretty busy, fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

Enjoy you Christmas…or whatever with family and friends and this time next week, 2020 will be almost done!
