Many months ago I saw an image online, which sparked my creativity and imagination. It was a woman dressed in purple, with purple hair and and incredible and elaborate headpiece and gold foil.
I showed my designer Bea from Verdessa Fairy and she instantly fell in love with it too. We knew we wanted Emily Reinhard as our model, she would be perfect for this piece. I had a few purple dresses, but Emily showed us a soft blue dress with a gold bodice, which was perfect…I could easily change the dress colour with a little photoshop magic. We just had to wait to get out of lockdown. The planets all aligned when hair and makeup artist Teighan Felton joined us and a date was set. I had ordered the soft purple wig, we had the gold foil, Bea made the headpiece.
I decked the studio out in white, with my ivy twined trellis and hung it with purple wisteria blooms. I also bought a bunch of magnolia leaves and some soft pretty purple blooms as well. All set.
You can watch behind the scenes video and the final images here…
It was all so simple, but feels really lavish right? So thrilled with the final images.
All of these were shot with my Sony a7Riii and my new Sony 85mm between f/2.2 and f/3.5 and mostly available natural light. Just magic!
