Share your world – 8th June 2021

It’s been a fairly quiet week, we’re in week two of lockdown no.4. Frustrating to say the least. I guess we all know the drill right? It’s OK I have been keeping quite busy. I ran a 7-day long boot camp for creatives, which was loads of fun and now I am putting together a new online class, haven’t done one for awhile. I finally had my first Covid jab last week and spent 3 days feeling blah, not exactly sick, just yuck. But it’s done now to wait 12 weeks for the second. People here are still getting Covid after their second dose, but no where near as sick, so I guess it kind of works?

Well – onto Melanie’s SYW questions for this week…

QUESTIONS:

What’s the worst commercial you’ve recently seen (or heard)? Why was it so bad? There is currently a commercial on TV that is for a car, can’t remember which one. Supposedly for a futuristic car, but almost looks like snippets for a horror movie? I just don’t get it???????

What takes a lot of time but is totally worth it? Lots of things, and ‘lot of time’ is subjective. Flying to New Zealand, takes almost a whole day. Get up early, drive to the airport, drop off car, drop off bags, wait to board, get on plane, wait to take off. Fly to NZ. Disembark, get through customs, find luggage, find hire car, find hotel. That’s like nearly 11-12 hours just there…but so totally worth.

Have you ever smiled at a stranger and then wished you hadn’t? Why or why not? No I don’t think so. I have smiled and got a few funny looks, but that’s their problem. Usually I smile and get one back. All good.

What do you think is the nastiest tasting food? We once tried that Guzman y Gomez…most disgusting thing I ever ate, not sure why it’s so popular. Too scared to try it again. I prefer real Mexican food.

GRATITUDE:

Are you at peace with yourself?   Your world?   Please share, whether you said “yay” or “nay”! Yes and NO…hear me out. In general I am at peace with myself. But my world is topsy turvy. These rolling lockdowns and Covid breakouts are frustrating and scary. I can’t understand why (at least in Australia) these things keep happening. Less than 1% of the population is vaccinated. in 2019, 10 million people were vaccinated for the flu in a six week period, that’s at least 30% of the population. Yet in less than six months we can’t get to 1%? So stupid. They keep saying there are plenty of vaccines, but some people keep saying they can’t get their jab.

People are still complaining they are on the hotline for hours booking a jab, I just rang the local GP, booked it in a few days? How is that hard? Why stand in queues for hours and hours…ricking further infection outbreaks? So many people can’t run their businesses, me included. People keep asking for government handouts…where do they think all this money is coming from. The whole world is in debt it seems. Get a jab, sort out quarantine and we can go back to zero cases! Then everyone can go back to work.

Rant over for now…have a great week,

~ Julz

Some days you just want to stay home and cuddle up with the dog on the couch, right?
