Coffee & cake part 1

I was recently creating some images and videos for a new class, Simple still life in natural light, and I was wanting to capture a coffee and cake scenario. I took several different scenarios, I do that sometimes. I mean there is nothing wrong with these images, it’s just for one reason or another I decide that THIS isn’t the final shots I was looking for.

I think the biggest thing for me was the cake…I used brownies instead of a slice of cake. I think that was the thing, in a flat lay you can’t really see the brownies. They need a different angle to show it all off. Even the styling…didn’t really grab me. I will share a few different setups that I did on the same scene.
