Tropical Getaway – Part 8

One that made our list, that I had never really heard of before is Paronella Park. A gentleman by the name of Jose Paronella had a dream of building a castle, with lush gardens, picnic areas, tennis courts and and so much more. He opened it in 1935. It is these days in quite a state of disrepair. Nestled beside the Mena Creek it has suffered through many floods.

It was not as large as I originally thought, but it was was a lovely few hours wandering. Not sure it was entirely worth the AUD$50 entry fee??? But there is a guided walking tour and they very kindly drove me back up the top in the courtesy vehicle as opposed to making me walk up all those stairs.
