I recently changed from a 50mm to a 90mm Sony macro lens. I had been mostly playing in the backyard, but finally I managed to travel up to 15kms from home and it had stopped raining. In fact it was actually a beautiful warm spring day and so many people were out and about, so a macro was a good choice.
So many different variety of Kangaroo Paw were in flower. Also Sweet Peas, Flannel, Everlastings (or Paper Daisies), Bottle Brush, and even a few orchids.

I loved the bokeh I got from the 90mm, especially when I was far more intentional in capturing pleasing backgrounds.

Great shots Julie. I must visit the gardens at some time when I feel safe leaving my country abode. I love a macro lens. During last year’s lockdown I found it was a great way to distract one’s self from COVID.
