Yay! I finally opened the studio for 2022. We started off with a lovely Classic Still Life workshop. Five brand new faces were eager to learn what I had to teach. It felt so good to be back after an enforced two-month break. Between Christmas and New years and everything going on, I always close from the first week in Dec to the last week in Jan. Usually I really enjoy the break from everything, but thanks to Covid I really only had one month in November to shoot as much as I could, I would have happily been open longer. But people, after an enforced lockdown, want to get out and about. We also had two mini holidays in there, plus Christmas, so who am I to complain….but I ramble on!
So we had the usual three stations, one natural light and two with constant LED lights. We shot light and bright, soft and dreamy and of course, dark and moody. It was a stinking hot day, but we were as cool as cucumbers with the AC on!

Here are just a few shots, I captured before class, I always like to try my shots out beforehand; light, style, subject, colour etc. Below are a few shots of everyone in action.

Can’t wait for the next shoot! Don’t forget if you are located in Melbourne (Australia) I regularly run workshops and mentoring sessions, so don’t forget to visit the website for details.

Julz – so creative and I like all of the stills – esp the cast iron tea pot one…
and also like the action shots behind the photographer to get a feel for all that is done – so cool
