I was recently playing in the studio with some dried lavender, capturing some pretty still life. The smell was divine. I was shooting with my 90mm macro lens and my Lensbaby Velvet56 mostly at f/2.8 to f/4. As a lot of this was handheld, so much ISO was higher than normal, from 250 to 640.
I added some lovely vintage props; books, a camera, glasses and a basket.

I hope you enjoy your week…

P.S. I now have Zorro the cat coming into the studio on a regular basis, as well as Dexter…I don’t think the dog is too happy about being upstaged lol
Zorro! What a perfect name. Times like this I wish we had ‘scratch n’ sniff’ screens. The lavender plant with the lavender throw is so pretty.

Love these images Julie. You have captured the nostalgia so beautifully and the colours are perfect. I also love the fact that Zorro the cat has made a debut! My black and white furbaby Rambo is sleeping somewhere in the house.

We got Rambo as little kitten when we still lived in Melbourne and he wandered into our back yard. He was so cute with his funny black splotch on his nose. But he loved hanging off my lace curtains and being a little terror hence the name. He can be sooky. Hates little people and thunderstorms. Any loud noise and he is under the bed! I featured him in a blog post I did last year.
