Why is my 50mm macro my favorite lens for still life and food photography? This is something I get asked all the time. I shoot with a Sony a7 II, a7R III and a Sony 50mm macro lens. 18 more words
Why my 50mm macro is my favorite lens for still life and food photography — Photofocus
Hi Julie. Interesting post. I am really trying to kickstart my photography with some still life images. I only have a Canon EFS 35mm macro lens which I do love but I see you are using the 50mm lens. Any suggestions. I also recently bought a lightbox which has been good fun to play with and photograph much loved items. As well I finally got around to buying a flash for my DSLR which I need to get use to using. 30 years ago I was great at using my manual film camera but now trying to relearn with the new technology. Many thanks for sharing. Lynn

A 35mm is great, especially on a cropped sensor camera it is roughly 50mm on full frame. I mostly use that as it feels comfortable. I also use a 90mm macro too.
I say use what you have. 😏 have you checked out any of my self paced online classes? I have several.
