Share your world – 8th June 2022

It’s been a busy week, four studio shoots this week, plus editing – makes for a super busy week. Our building finally came and finished the extension for our deck in the backyard, all we need now is some nice weather to enjoy it. It has been so bitterly cold and wet this week. Winter is surely here now.

On to this week’s SYW questions

When you were a kid, did you eat the crusts on your sandwich or not? My Nan used to tell me it would give me curly hair…I really wanted curly hair, so I ate all my crusts. Funnily these days I usually save them for the dog.

Are you a fan of musicals—why or why not? Love a good musical. I’ve seen loads of them, in concert and on the big screen. Sadly I missed out on Moulin Rouge, I had tickets but caught Covid and couldn’t go. I am also yet to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, but perhaps before it finishes in Melbourne? I adore the pageantry, the costumes, and the music. My Favs have to be Phantom of the Opera, Cats, The Lion King and The Rocky Horror.

Is it difficult to do what you do? (for a living, hobby etc.).  If you’re retired, what you ‘did’ previously for a job can be substituted. Convincing people to pay money for what I offer. Sure they are happy to learn for free, or get photos for free, but as soon as they hear there is a price tag it is sometimes a different story. That and convincing people to get in front of the camera. Most people don’t like having their photos taken. We all have hangups about ourselves.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?  (Doesn’t have to be a rock concert either). Pink was incredible. Sir Elton John and The Eagles had me literally crying with joy. Have you ever heard Hotel California played live? Sting was another and Paul Simon was great too, singing a duet with Sting on Roxanne. Amazing.

Looking back over your life, what is one thing you’re grateful for? My husband and my little family, my close friends. Who gives me the strength and courage to pursue my dreams. I am grateful for the experiences I have had, and the adventures we have taken. Especially in recent years.

One thing you really regret? Not standing up for myself against bullies earlier. My passive/aggressive nature had me either shut down or lash out at those around me, rather than stand up to them. It was not easy, but I had to do it or go completely mad.

I hope you all have an amazing week…
