OK So yes this is another scheduled post, I promise the last one for awhile, next week I will be back on deck. Today while you are reading this I am hosting a workshop for my Photoshop Artistry Group big Australian and NZ meet up.

And now the highlight of my week……………….drum roll please! I received an email from Photoshop Creative to feature one of my images in their magazine! Woohoo.

Longing for the Fog to Lift

To say I’m buzzing is an understatement, some much as happened in the past few weeks, my head is spinning. Need to get back to earth and buckle down to work! Travel is over and I have lots of raw material to work with, plus I have loads of shoots set up for the month ahead.

Thank you for all of you who cheer me on, it means the world to me my friends 🙂

The year that was……..2016

2016 was a turbulent year, on a personal note I had many highs and some fabulous adventures, but globally there was so much sadness. 2016 was a terrible year for singers, writers and actors; Jon English, Prince, David Bowie, Glen Frey, we lost Alan Rickman and Gene Wilder and now George Michael and Carrie Fischer; just among the few. I won’t go into the horrendous acts of violence here, but there were far too many of them too.

We did a great many day trips and weekends away;

I was so lucky to get so many of my digital art pieces published, and hope to have many more in 2017.

I started my own Vimeo and YouTube channel…….please visit, like and share. I have created and printed two books and a range of greeting cards, and participated in many fun and exciting workshops, as well as ran many of my own.

It has been one hell of a ride…………I hope 2017 is just as full of amazing adventures, with less sadness and loss.

Mystery Blogger Award…

I woke this morning to this award nomination and it is so nice to receive these, however, I rarely accept them anymore, or leave as it is. I want to thank my nominator  –  Embeecee from Sparksofacombustiblemind and even though I was nominated  and as much as I don’t mind the awards part, I hate the passing on part, I hate to put pressure on others…so I will participate, but break a rule or two.  I hope that doesn’t upset the apple cart too much.

Three Things About Me:

************    ************    ****************

Five (Well SIX) Questions For My Nominees:

  1. What is your biggest regret? Living in the shadows and not following my dreams earlier. It took a near death experience to get me off my butt and to stop being so scared of what everyone else thinks and does. At nearly 50 I am now happier than I have ever been in my life, I am having the time of my life, new experiences, new friends and new interests. Call me Nike girl, as my life’s motto is Just DO IT.
  2.  What is your favourite time of day/night? This is the hard question, I love quite of early morning and late at night, I don’t like to get up early but will happily do it for a good reason. I love warm balmy summer evenings, I don’t like cold wet winter ones, not a fan of winter at all actually, but I have discovered the cold doesn’t kill you…….and if you get out in it with friends it can even be fun.
  3.  Your favourite beverage (alcoholic or non..)? Coffee. coffee, coffee
  4. Do you enjoy the fall back or spring ahead time change more? I love early fall when the weather is still hot and the evenings are balmy……..bliss.
  5. If you could have one wish (and you can’t say “more wishes”) what would it be? Lead a more healthy active (but not injury prone) live when I was younger, so I could reap the rewards now
  6. The Weird Question:  If you saw someone you didn’t know (a stranger) who was having a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ (i.e. their dress was stuck in their pantyhose or their trousers were unzipped; and stuff was showing) would you tell them or just look away and hope someone else spoke up)? It depends on who and how bad it was, a woman with her dress in pantyhose for sure, someone wearing pink and red……….it’s a personal choice.

Best Post:

My Favourite post is probably my 2nd post (My first post was an accidental share lol) way back  in October 2014…

Not because it is anything particular thrilling (although mention our trip to New Zealand), they are no my images and it is not that well written; but it was a start and brought me to where I am today, over 1,400 posts, over 900 readers and nearly 60,000 views…………amazing.

So that’s it, thanks for the nomination, but apologies for not passing it on. In saying that IF you would like to join in, considered yourself nominated!

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

awardAn award was sent to me by my blogging friend Leya at To See a World in a Grain of Sand

I am not a big fan of sending out awards, it’s not that I don’t appreciate other people’s blogs, I do, but the first few times I felt like I was putting a burden on people to carry it on as a form of chain mail. But it is nice to be appreciated, and I do say that your kind words and comments are all the appreciation I need, but I will thank Leya and her kind thoughts. I will try and answer all questions, but I won’t be forwarding it on. I hope you don’t all mind. I know a lot of people don’t like to participate.

The answers to the questions that address the award rules are:

How would you describe what your blog is about?

My blog is about my travels, my art and my photography, with a little about my life and family thrown in; but not too much.

Do you see your blog changing (as in expanding or developing in any way) at some stage in the future?

I actually used to have two blogs, one for challenges and writing and one for photos, but I merged them into one. My Blog has evolved so much over the last 12 months already, I really don’t see it changing much now.

Do you write your blog posts straight onto the WordPress page or onto a word document first?

Straight into WordPress, I can edit and pre schedule my posts if I choose so I seldom pre write anything. I have a calendar, which I roughly use to pre map out the month’s blog ahead of time and write to notes about future I want to write or places I want to visit (and then write about).

When you write, do you need to be on your own or are you happy to write with others around you?

I am usually on my own, but I don’t care if there are other around, as long as they are not looking over my shoulder – that’s just creepy!

Which is your favourite species of tree, and why do you like it?

Not really ‘into’ trees, but I would have to say from an artistic point of view I quite like an Australian Ghost Gum, a Wattle Tree, frangipani, grevillea.

If you were to have a day out somewhere easily reachable from your home, where would it be?

This is a difficult one, as I frequently have days out and they are all different. I love the beach, but I do not lay on the sand and sunbake with a book. I love to explore rocky beaches and tide pools. However I am also very at home in a forest, the lush dense rain forest around my home are some of my favourites.

Which ‘celebration’ (annual or otherwise) in the country where you live do you enjoy the most?

I guess My favourite is Christmas, there is always something exciting about Christmas, and it is not juts the gifts, Christmas marks the start of Summer here, warmth weather, lazy days, holidays, BBQs, friends and family, I love the Christmas lights, and the happy attitude everyone seems to have.

Which way would you choose to travel, given the choice: car or train?

I don’t really like the train much, but then I have only ever been on short, crowded city bound trains. I have never been on anything like the Orient Express or the Ghan (in Australia)or over the Rocky Mountains, it might be fun.

Which subject did you enjoy the most at school?

Easy Art! and I also enjoyed english and ancient history, I especially like ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian history.

What do you think is the best thing about being a woman today?

I am free to make my own choices. I can be a Mother, a wife, a lover, a friend, a boss, a leader, a co worker, an artist, a business woman. I may not have always made the right choices, but I was free to make my own way and make my own mistakes, no one chose for me.

Thank You Leya, perhaps my readers and blogging friends will now know a little bit more about me.
