Monday Musings

Happy Halloween……..I was a tad early on my post yesterday, but when you’re having fun who cares, right? I am smack bang in the middle of a four day weekend. Yay, I love  this time of year. Can’t believe it’s November tomorrow. peacock

So Saturday dawned sunny and warm the first real weekend of summery weather in awhile, I had my Great Nephews Name Day and 1st Birthday, my the time has flown. His celebrations were held at Myuna Farm, sort of Children’s Farm for not quite inner city kids; chickens, cows, goats, pigs, horses, that sort of thing………..the stunning peacock above as well.

Happy 1st birthday Xavier

I then spent the afternoon playing with some natives blooms from the garden.

Sunday was quite warm and I met Desley for a day together for some Still Life, lunch and laughs. Wonderful lunch at a local cafe and then an afternoon of natives, roses and lights; it was a lot of fun and got some amazing shots. All too soon it was time to come home.

This morning will be a big sleep in, so this is scheduled! Not sure what today and tomorrow will hold……next weekend I have another Portrait session and then another adventure is planned for Sunday, weather permitting. I will post more on Myuna Farm (some many wonderful animals and of course some pretty’s from my shoot at Desley’s, but I have not had time to go through them all.

I hope you all have a brilliant week, Happy Halloween…

Spring Outings – Looking for Canola…

Recently, I had a sudden urge to find some Canola Fields, it’s Spring and I have been seeing a lot of images of canola on social media, but me being, well me, I didn’t want just normal canola pics. So poor old M.O.T.H got dressed up for me again, he actually asked WHY I always make him dress up as something , creepy, evil and spooky – he’s damn good at it, and he works cheap!

Canola Blossom

We found this absolutely fabulous half demolished house, and lots of canola fields, it took while to find just the right one.scarecrow

So here is my ‘spooky’ scarecrow, it’s only one month ’til Halloween isn’t?

Travel Theme – Faces

This week’s Travel Theme is faces, so I thought I would look for images from recent travel with faces in them, generally when I travel it is landscapes, seascapes or cityscapes and I do all my faces in portrait work only.

Here is just a few I managed to catch on various travels, til next time happy snapping………

Spring Outings – Halloween in the City

We actually between one thing and another spent most of the weekend in the City, on Halloween we had planned on spending the Night at Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival: however we were severely let down, it was primarily just a House Dancer Party. We hung around for a little while, spoke to some people, watched the face painting, took some photos, and then left. Where was the Mexican food, music, art, culture, alter for the gift to the dead? Money poorly spent it seems, oh well you only live once! Moth and I were already dressed up so we decided to wander the streets to see what we could find!

Zombies! Lots and lots of Zombies, Melbourne is currently under attack, COD Fans flocked to Federation Square (and we followed). There were buskers and street performers and people everywhere, it was one of those rare warm, humid spring evenings (more like summer) and everyone was out to enjoy it.

Til next time, happy snapping………..

Happy Halloween

While you are reading this I am literally at a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival! Don’t worry I am sure I will be posting lots of photos soon! In the meantime I thought I throw something suitably Halloween for you all. Not a big fan myself (as some of you are aware) but there is a Zombie Apocalypse at my favourite Urbex Spot – some of you may remember it!!

Ghoulish enough for you all? Happy Halloween………..don’t eat all the candy!
