Autumn Outings – Mentone Beach

I thought I would post a bonus extra today – ND Long Exposure shoot at Mentone Beach. On Mother’s Day we were up near Moorabbin and figured it wasn’t far to get to Mentone Beach, a few people had been posting long exposure’s from here from the Nikon Club in Melbourne (Facebook)and figured I would check it out, arrived just on sunset with Moth, it was very windy, very cold and the clouds just racing past us, with the surf booming (this is NOT a surf beach)……….sunset not so great but got some fairly good long exposures. I have decided that I think I do need a 10 stop ND Filter…….currently looking at Amazon. I’ll let you know how I go.

So how do you find it? Drive to the end of Warrigal Rd(where it meets Beach Rd), park the car, walk across the road and you’ll find a small track. Continue along the track til you hit the beach, literally turn left and it’s right there, The Parkdale Yacht Squadron is a little further down on the left. The Big Rock is a little further up the beach to the right.
