Cee’s theme this week for her B&W Challenge is Public Transport. There are two things which I do not photograph often and one is public transport. Melbourne might have a lot going for it, but our public transportation is not one of them. I rarely use it, and quite frankly don’t have much call for the images. I do have a few I managed to scrounge up, the first is a shot from the walk over at Southern Cross Station, where you can see the trains coming and going, and the others are the iconic Melbourne Trams……..to be honest I know they are a tradition, but I don’t see what all the fuss is about personally.
Til next week, happy snapping…

“Melbourne might have a lot going for it, but our public transportation is not one of them.” Hmmm. I have a much different opinion.

Compared to what is available where I am, it seems to have a lot going for it – the train coverage to surrounding suburbs with stops all around the city and the in-city transport policies (free trams, I think). But then again, I don’t live there so what do I really know? Maybe making too much of what I read from afar. Oh, and perhaps unduly influenced by that cute ‘Dumb Ways to Die’ video 🙂 . Cheers!

that video is super cool. Where are you from? OK Compared to some parts of the world it’s not too bad and we have real 1st world problems, continuous cancellations, always running late, trains only running once an hour and then running late, trains not stopping at smaller stations there for I can’t get off at my stop only the one 4 stops before where I live. They are completely overcrowded (by our standards) because there are not enough trains. Yes the trams are free in the city I believe, but over crowded and don’t run to any re schedule. It’s always a big political campaign issue, out PT system is a joke especially the Miki system when others through Europe and Asia are far superior
