Monday’s Musings

What to do with an empty nest? For the first time, I have no children at home. My Youngest has moved interstate and as she was driving her car up, my eldest daughter went with her to share the driving and help her set up in the new house. Not to mention enjoying the sensational Brisbane weather and all the theme parks and tourist attractions while she is there. My eldest will then fly home the night we fly to Bali…….so I won’t see her for a few more weeks after that. So an empty nest for several weeks, I don’t think that has quite set in yet.

That is, of course, assuming we actually get to Bali. Bali has an active volcano at Mt. Agung which is threatening to erupt at any moment, surrounding areas have been evacuated. They have not canceled flights yet, but surely they do not need extra tourists. We have travel insurance, but we can only claim if we can’t get there, not if we think it is too dangerous. The bride to be is in a panic of course. It is all rather worrying.

On Saturday we had our first taste of Summer with a temp of 30°C, hottest September Day since records started, it was heaven. I spent a pleasant afternoon in the Studio with Hayley, after several hours of Hair and Makeup with Micaela, doing an Old School Hollywood Glam, Film Noir shoot. I must say I am loving the results

Of course, will post more soon. Saturday night, as a final family event, we went and saw Aladdin the Musical with the girls, such an amazing night, the genie stole the show. It was pleasant in the City, we have not been in so long now.

Sunday was a mad rush of shopping, cleaning, out to lunch with friends and a photoshoot planning sessions (This is with another new group – The Dark Room), but more on that later too 🙂 Then back home, collect the girls, quite drive over to visit Mum and Dad, back home and cook dinner and get ready for work again today. Packed the last of daughters stuff in cars. Then another friend came over to say goodbye to my daughter. Actually, she was in and out all weekend, trying to see all her friends one more time before she left.

Then my weekend was over again, so quick, but jammed packed as always. Was really busy with work stuff too, so I am looking forward to time off.

I will leave it here for now and post more pics soon.
